Kari is teaching two fabulous garden classes this Thursday, August 8th. Both classes are a little $10 investment.

I am especially excited about each one - even though we've been farming and growing for awhile and I love everything about the meal table and making it special - I always seek to come to a class/workshop as a learner. Every new season Michael and I fluff up our garden beds - adding a bit of this and a bit of that to make the depleted soil happy and full of organic matter and nutrients. The change of every planting season is the time to refresh your soil so it thrives and improves over time and yields a bountiful harvest for this next fall season. Kari has wonderful tips and garden secrets to fluff up and Refresh Your Garden.  She will also be sharing what to plant now and over the next few weeks. Plant starts will be available again this Thursday.

AND for all of you who work and feel so bummed about not making it to one of our Simple Inspiration Classes/Workshops.....

Kari will be teaching THIS Sunday - August 11th from 3-4 - Container Gardening [register here]. Many people want to grow food, don't have much space and simply need to see how you CAN be successful growing food/herbs in a container. Kari will teach you HOW to grow what you eat in the space you have!

Our Garden Market Will Be Open from 8:30 until 11:30 for the sale of all your vegetables and herbs to plant NOW.

Simple Inspiration - Planting For The Harvest Table Now

I'm already thinking about Thanksgiving . . . the time to gather around the meal table with loved ones and even strangers . . . the time to pause, reflect and give thanks . . . for so many things.

In our home, Thanksgiving was always such a beautiful time to bring out the special plates and platters and to add those special garden touches and mix in some old silver or gold pieces.

Did you ever think that all you need to create a lovely tablescape can come directly from your own garden? Things like squash, gourds, flowers, grasses and herbs can be grown and harvested at just the right time for creative fall decor, tablescapes and meal preparation.

Autumn is just weeks away, and for gardeners it's time to start planting with an eye toward autumn hospitality.  We're excited to have Kari Spencer teach this Simple Inspiration class -

Planting for the Harvest Table

This class will inspire you with creative ideas for using natural decor as well as what to plant now for that fall decorative and culinary harvest.

At this class - you'll learn which pumpkin and other squash varieties are best for decorating or baking and which ones to grow now. You'll also learn how to make your own homemade pumpkin puree, what herbs and flowers you can plant now for the fall as well as we'll teach you simple ways to preserve those herbs.
