Summer Farm Market Hours

The summer harvest is going to be full of eggplant, zucchini, squash, watermelon, French melons, tomatoes as long as they last, okra, cucumbers, herbs, fresh flowers, Grano de Vida bread and Crow's Dairy Goat gelato, cheese and milk. And, of course - our New Gourmet Goat along with our traditional vanilla - Caramel.

On another note - we're changing our hours for summer - 9 - NOON and 4 - 6. We will also be closing the farm for a few weeks in August - the middle of August until sometime September.

Please pass the word about The Simple Farm's new summer hours.

Beautiful White and Yellow

When the Baker Creek seed catalogue came months ago I was on a hunt for some gourmet squash to plant here at at our little suburban farm.  These three caught my eye.

Indeed, if you drive by and catch glimpse of all the green popping up on our vintage field - that's them - these three kinds of delicious squash:

Just about every other day (this past week) I've simply sauteed - in a lot of butter - these heirloom scalloped squash. You can steam it, bake it, roast it, grill it, fry it or do what I do sauté it.

By the way, baskets of these beautiful squash will be at our French Market on Thursday. They're easy to prepare, offer fantastic nutritional benefits

Beautiful White and Yellow.

Peaches and Peaches

The first of our of few peach trees is producing some of the nicest and sweetest peaches.  I can see my delicious fresh peach jam in the future of our FrenchMarket.

The few that we have we will be selling at our Market on Thursday.
