It was a fabulous turn out for Natalie's 6 year old birthday celebration at the farm. Kids toured our farm and learned about compost, chickens, goats, seeds and gardens. Can't get much better than that!

How Many Women Can You Get Into a French Garden?
A few of Wednesdays Simple Farm Urban Farm Chic Volunteers - who we couldn't live without.
Each woman is precious and a gift.
They sweat, dig, plant seeds, carry dirt, fill compost areas up, haul dirt, rake, organize and more.
Thanks to my little farm community for being you and for believing in this adventure we call
"The Simple Farm" and thanks for believing in Michael and I.
You're amazing!

Basics of Raising Backyard Chickens - Class 101 with Chris Byers
There's nothing like it to head on out to your b.ack yard hen house and gather the days eggs from your own hens. We frequently hear people talk about wanting to own a few hens and then ask us how to get started.
We're excited about our second Fall Farm Class - the Basics of Raising BackYard Chickens - Class 101 with Chris Byers being held at the farm on Sunday, October 23 at 1:30. Register here.
We met Chris and his lovely wife Ruthanne a few years ago at a Perma Culture event here in Phoenix. Ever since that initial connection we've had great joy in developing a relationship with them and we knew there would come a day when Chris would be one of our farms key instructors. Finally, we have our first class with Chris on the calendar and this one will be all about chickens.
If you've thought about getting hens (and many people are today) and aren't quite sure what to do or how to start - this class is one you won't want to miss. Pass the word around and register here for the class.
